从听见证者成为做见证者
约翰福音
4:39-42
那城里有好些撒马利亚人信了耶稣，因为那妇人作见证说：「他将我素来所行的一切事都给我说出来了。」于是撒马利亚人来见耶稣，求他在他们那里住下，他便在那里住了两天。因耶稣的话，信的人就更多了，便对妇人说：「现在我们信，不是因为你的话，是我们亲自听见了，知道这真是救世主。」

believed in him because of the woman's testimony, "He told me
everything I ever did. "So when the Samaritans came to him, they
urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of
his words many more became believers. They said to the woman, "We no
longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for
ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the
world."
这段经文说到：许多人听到那位与耶稣相遇、谈话的妇女，并她的见证后，也希望能见到这位耶稣。这些人见遇见耶稣、与耶稣谈话之后，便说：他们现在相信耶稣不但因为听了那位妇女的见证，更因为直接从耶稣那里听到祂所说的话。
这段经文对于我们是很好的提醒。几乎所有基督徒在成为基督徒的刚开始，都是先听到别人说关于耶稣的事、或是关于他们的生命与耶稣相遇的见证。然而，所有的基督徒也必须要从一位「听见」耶稣的基督徒，转变成为一位「遇见」耶稣的基督徒，这时这位基督徒的生命才能算是真正有一个与耶稣相交(communion)、甚至是联合(union)的生命。这样生命中那原本是「第二手」的信仰，才能迈进到「第一手」的信仰。也才能够从原本是一位「听见证」的「基督徒(Christians)」，成为一位「做见证」的「基督门徒(disciples
of Christ)」。
